Ø  Teachers, please include the Star Math and Star Reading parent report with your class syllabus for report card day or insert it with the report card. Thank you!

Ø  All 9th through 12th grade teachers, please follow up with your students on the drinks for CSW family Night.  Each high school student must bring 1 case of drink which must be 24 counts per case.  Any student in a class who does not bring a case of drinks, the school will then purchase the case of drink and funding will be taken out from the class account for its procurement. Thank you!

Ø  Teachers: Please share the Star Reading and Star Math Testing results with your students. Talk to them about setting their individual goal for the last testing; end of the year exit test in April, 2011. Thank you!

Ø  WASC Accreditation. The MCS Mid-term Draft Report is currently posted at MCS Website for review and comments. Kindly spare your time to visit the website and read the draft report. This Wednesday, January 26, 2011 we will meet after school and will ask your final inputs.

Ø All Teachers: Ø  This is to remind everyone that we will only post the 2nd Quarter and 1st Semester Final Students’ Grade in the Edline upon the advice of the business office.

 Ø Teachers and Students: This Wednesday, January 26, 2011 is the scheduled movie day for the 1st – 12th grades students that participated in the Feast of Immaculate Conception. The schedule is between 8:30 am to 11:30 am. We will provide you the bus assignment, once we confirm by today the final number of students that will participate. Please collect your students’ money and give it to the business office by today. Please refer to special Wednesday class schedule that was provided in your mail box yesterday.

Ø  Report Card and PTO meeting will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011. Please prepare your class records and the 3rd quarter course syllabus.

 What:  3rd Annual Mount Carmel School Walk a Thon

 When:  February 19, 2011

Where:  Beginning at the Minatchom Atdao to the Quarter Master Road intersection and back.

 Registration Time:  Begins at 6AM to 7AM

 Sponsor Forms and Donations:  Participants must turn in their walk a thon sponsor forms with a minimum of $100 on or before February 18, 2011 to qualify for the prize program at the Business Office.

All sponsor forms and donations must be turned in to the Mount Carmel School Business Office or at the registration table on the day of the event.

    Prize programs are the following:

    Individual category:                 

    1. A student with the highest amount collected                Prize:  laptop computer

    2.  A student with the 2nd highest amount collected        Prize:  X Box 360

    3.  A student with the 3rd highest amount collected        Prize:  Play Station 2

    4.  A student with the 4th highest amount collected        Prize:  Nintendo DS Lite

    5.  A student with the 5th highest amount collected        Prize:  DVD Player

Late submission of form and donation will disqualify a walker from participating in the prize program.

3RD ANNUAL WALK A THON FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE BUSINESS OFFICE.

Teachers:  Please start using the ESLR’s rubric with your students. Make ESLR’s part of your everyday delivery of instructions and assessment. Make sure that your students know the MCS’ ESLRs and how they connect to their everyday instructions/lessons. Discuss with your students why we have ESLRs and why they are important.

Lunch Supervisors:  Please monitor the students so they eat their lunch at the cafeteria. Thank you!

Teachers: Please keep reminding your students that they are expected to eat their lunch at the cafeteria. This is for maximizing our supervision effort and to ensure the safety of all the students. Students are not allowed to eat their lunch under the big trees or anywhere else except at the cafeteria.  Thank you!

Teachers: Please talk to your students regarding the procedures for having a visitor at the school. The visitor must register in the office first before talking to any students. Thank you!

Ø  Teachers and Students: The D. A. R. E graduation for the 7th grade will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the school gym. The time of the graduation is during the 2nd period, the affected class is the 7th grade elective. Please excuse them from your class.

We want to praise National Honor Society for helping in tutoring students during Motheread/Fatheread program while their parents participate in the program. We want to praise their president, Maria Balajadia and their advisor, Ms. Baldazo for their leadership in committing the NHS to provide the help. Great job!

We want to praise all the students’ representatives from each class who participated in the signing of the Catholic Schools Week proclamation. Great job!

We want to praise Ms. Buenaflor, Ms. Ada, Ms. Mendiola, Mr. Camacho, and Ms. Toby for subbing Ms. Muna’s classes yesterday while she attended to her mother’s medical condition. Great job!

We want to praise Mr. Benavente for working hard with the theatre club to produce such an awesome production;”The Comedy of Errors”. Fantastic job!

Our “Congratulations” goes out to the 6th Grade class and their teacher Ms. Taimanao for maintaining their class status of accumulating the most points in accelerated reading (AR).  Great JOB!

Our “Congratulations” goes to the 7th graders and their teacher Ms. Borja for getting the most points that made the change for the week. Awesome Job!

We are really concern about those classes that are not showing any activities in AR.   We hope to see some effort taken to get all our students to participate. This is one way to raise our reading scores!!!  Think about it. Thank you.
