Applicants for Mount Carmel School teaching positions must contain a minimum of a Bachelors degree in the subject area for which you are applying. Credentialed applicants are preferred, but uncredentialed applicants will be considered. Salary and Benefit Information
Faculty 2007-2008

Length of Contract – Two (2) years
Salary Range - $18,000 to $20,000

Teacher Employment Terms and Conditions

The standard term of employment is two school years.
For teachers hired off-island, a round trip ticket is provided after completion of the two year contract. Transportation to Saipan is provided by Mount Carmel School at the beginning of the contract.
If the contract is broken during the first year, the employee must reimburse Mount Carmel School for the airfare to Saipan and all recruitment expenses.
A health insurance plan is available for all employees. This plan is partially funded by Mount Carmel School.
Ten (10) working days of sick leave will be provided yearly of which two days can be taken for personal leave.
Unused leave can be cashed in, when requested at a rate of $10 per day. Unused leave will not be accumulated nor carried over to the following year.
A re-sign on bonus will be given if teachers decide to sign on for another two year term. The sign on bonus will be included in the first paycheck of the renewal contract. (Suspended for at least one year.)

Salary Scale 2007-2008

The class in which a teacher is placed will depend upon the educational qualifications, teaching credential and additional credits he/she has obtained which are pertinent to the teaching assignment.

Classification System
Classroom Teacher I
B.A. earned – a four-year program from a regionally accredited institution.
Classroom Teacher II
M.A. earned from a regionally accredited institution.

Guidelines on Pay Level Placement

Positions with:

                    7-8                      4
New appointees with 9 or more years of experience will be placed on pay step 5.
After pay step 5, increases will be made after two years.
Salary freezes upon reaching the last step on the corresponding pay level.
Should a higher rate be deemed necessary and appropriate to the qualification of the applicant, the salary maybe fixed at any succeeding step but not beyond step 5.
Initial appointees pay must be approved by the president.
